4 days Mount Meru hiking itinerary;
Day 1: Arusha - Momella Gate - Miriakamba Hut;
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut - Saddle Hut;
Day 3: Saddle Hut - Miriakamba Hut;
Day 4: Miriakamba Hut - Momella Gate.
After breakfast on the first day, depart Moshi or Arusha and drive to Momella Gate. Make your payment and begin your 4 days and 3 nights on Mount Meru with a picnic lunch. At Miriakamba Hut, we stay for dinner and an overnight.
After breakfast, we proceed to the second hut, called Saddle. This section is too steep in comparison to the first section. During the afternoon, clients can decide to attempt climbing Little Meru Peak and back. Dinner and overnight at the Saddle Hut.
Before attempting Mount Meru Peak, get up at midnight and have a cup of tea. Cross the rocky path to the Mount Meru summit and return to the saddle hut for a full breakfast. Lunch, dinner, and overnight are at Miriakamba Hut.
After breakfast, you will leave Miriakamba Hut and descend down to Momella Gate. The descent is shorter than the ascent, but there is still the chance to see elephants, buffalos, and giraffes, as well as the black and white Columbus monkeys. At the gate, you will say farewell to your hiking crew, and your driver will take you back to Arusha or Moshi.
